Help Get Tom to Brazil!

Send Tom to Brazil

In February, an important meeting of the Hemispheric Social Alliance (HSA) will take place in Brazil to further accelerate the process of phenomenal change we saw in 2006. As the ART Coordinator, I must attend this meeting but ART needs your financial help.

Help send us to Brazil!

One year ago, Quest for Peace assumed coordination of the Alliance for Responsible Trade - and what a year it has been! 2006 saw a strong hemispheric shift to the left, with countries in Latin America moving away from the US neo-liberal agenda, towards trade and economic paradigms that promote democracy, justice for workers and care for the environment.

We are so close to being able to attend this critical meeting! The total costs involved are $4000. We have $1400 in hand from a generous single donor and need to raise the remaining $2600 in two weeks. Please help with a donation of $50, or whatever you can afford.

ART has been a key player in the historic events witnessed this year, providing leadership to an expansive network, serving as a liaison to the HSA (the alliance of networks from Mexico, Central and South America and Canada), and sponsoring visits of key actors from the Global South to the United States to educate our citizens and Congress and to influence the direction of U.S. policy.

As ART coordinator, I sit on the coordinating committee of the HSA where work plans, priorities and strategies are developed and coordinated and it is vitally important for me to represent ART at his meeting in Brazil as we seek even greater gains in 2007.

With your support I will continue our participation and solidarity in these thrilling developments. I promise you a special report on this meeting with our partners from the Global South. Please help by sending your donation right now.

Hopefully and Peacefully yours
